SUMMARY:
Manage and oversee all restaurant operations on and off premises while maximizing the restaurant department Revenues and minimizing the Restaurant Departments Expenses, as well as enhancing both internal and external guest relations and service levels. Responsible for providing outstanding guest service by controlling restaurant seating flow and assisting all restaurant staff as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

:In this role, the Food Manager shall serve as a key brand ambassador of our employee:owned family business and as such must always exemplify the character, hospitality, and work quality and work ethic of an EMer.
:Greet guests in a friendly, prompt and courteous manner
:Seat guests, distribute menus and describe daily specials
:Control guest flow in Restaurant by monitoring reservations
:Answer the telephone and assist callers
:Create upcoming reservation logs
:Remain aware of level of service being provided and assist where possible and necessary to assure quality service
:Train all Front of the House Supervisors / Staff on food service.
:Monitor waiting area for any possible service needs
:Monitor and resolve guest complaints
:Provide excellent guest experiences
:Perform table visits
:Monitor and resolve employee concerns and complaints
:Interview and confer with F and B Manager and F and B Director when hiring new staff
:Oversee Restaurant Department operations
:Perform Restaurant scheduling
:Control labor cost by observation of business activity and review of activity levels of comparable historical periods
:Ensure that all F and B and Restaurant SOPs as well as Company policies are being adhered to.
:Implement creative strategies to increase revenues; decrease expenses
:Ensure all cleanliness standards are adhering to SNHD A Grade Standards
:Coordinate opening and closing procedures and floor plans
:Suggest concepts and revenue max ideas
:Suggest marketing for the Restaurant and obtain approval from F and B Manager and F and B Director
:Demonstrate team:building experience and promote an atmosphere of teamwork
:Lead by example; build morale and spirit; participative management style; abilities to inspire, train, and develop people for promotion;
:Instill a guest service and can:do attitude in all employees; coach employees how to resolve and de:escalate conflicts; maintain a calm, organized approach; other duties as assigned.
:Conduct daily Pre:Shift meetings with Staff.
:Communicate in writing decisions made to F and B Manager and F and B Director with affected employees
:Document all encounters with employees and ensure that discipline is fair and consistent
:Review Marketing Calendar and ensure that the staff are aware of the upcoming weekly events
:Communicate decisions made in writing to F and B Manager and F and B Director with affected employees regarding any issues.
:Write and administer Employee Performance Reviews : 90 Day and Yearly : where applicable
:Assist in overseeing the Beverage Department Operations as well. I.e. Observe Bartenders, Host, Server Assistants, and Servers for adherence to departmental policies and procedures. Document reviews
:Perform all other job:related duties as requested.
