Job Brief 13;
Under direction, performs skilled work servicing automotive and heavy equipment in the shop and field. Performs work with a high degree of accuracy using specifications, charts, proper oils, lubricants, and filters in a variety of equipment.

Job Responsibilities 13;
:Reads service manuals for procedures and locations of filters, drains, filler openings, proper fluid levels, and proper oil type and viscosity.
:Checks all fluid levels on heavy equipment and other engines to ensure conformance to specifications and adds oil, fuel, and water as needed.
:Drains and replaces all necessary fluids including oil in heavy equipment.
:Records amount and type of fluid added/replaced and other activities performed.
:Checks tire pressure, inflates tires on heavy equipment, and changes and repairs tires.
:Keeps service trucks, equipment, and work area clean.
:Cleans and replaces air and fluid filters.
:Inspects equipment to check for damage, leaks, and malfunctions.
:Lubricates applicable fittings using lubricating equipment.
:Prepares computer work requests on equipment needing repair.
:Operates Fuel/lube truck to perform service on field equipment.
:Orders parts from the warehouse or local parts jobber.
:Maintains the care and security of tools, materials, and equipment.
:Operates equipment serviced to check for oil leaks, pressures, and any obvious malfunctions.
:Drives and/or operates all assigned automotive or heavy equipment for servicing or testing.
:Changes tires using tire:changing equipment, balances tires using tire:balancing equipment, and repairs leaks in tires using tire:patch equipment.
:Follows established safety procedures and practices.
:Other duties as assigned.
:Employee must work safely and efficiently in the performance of their job duties. Must maintain effective working relationships with other employees, customers and the public. Must have the ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions, and have the ability to accurately and legibly complete applicable paper work. May be required to work a reasonable amount of overtime.
High School, GED or Equivalent. 13;
One to three years experience as a garage serviceman or similar experience in equipment serviceman related activities.
